Recently, butterfly valves have made application progress in multiple emerging industrial scenarios, with their role extending from traditional fluid control to high-end and cutting-edge fields.
In the new energy storage sector, large-diameter hard-sealed butterfly valves have been put into operation alongside compressed air energy storage units. Given the demanding conditions of frequent charging and discharging in salt cavern energy storage, the valves concerned must maintain structural rigidity and sealing precision at extremely large diameters to cope with cycle frequencies far higher than those of traditional thermal power equipment. At the same time, the liquid cooling needs of AI computing infrastructure have opened up an incremental market for high-performance butterfly valves. Coolant flow regulation and pipeline safety protection impose new requirements on valve cleanliness and response speed, and some manufacturers have already adapted their processes for liquid cooling systems, with related products entering the batch delivery stage.
In addition, the expansion of the hydrogen energy industry chain has also driven the improvement of valve certification systems. Some butterfly valve products have passed material compatibility and sealing performance tests for gaseous hydrogen conditions, covering links such as hydrogen production electrolyzer isolation and hydrogen pipeline network control, providing a reference basis for equipment selection in green hydrogen projects. From energy storage peak shaving to computing power cooling, and further to hydrogen energy transmission and distribution, the application boundaries of butterfly valves are continuing to expand along with the technological iteration of downstream industries.
